Louise has coached me since I was a student coach and has seen me through the good times and the bad.  She has always been there to congratulate, encourage, commiserate, brainstorm and do whatever else was needed to kickstart me into action - not an easy task, I assure you.  With her help I have been able to keep to my deadlines, control my 'Gremlin' and start to develop my new businesses.  I can thoroughly recommend Louise as a life coach.

Louise has helped me achieve goals that I would not have achieved on my own.  Working with Louise always helps me to move forward on to another level. She has helped me develop much more positivity.  When I feel 'stuck', she has a knack of asking just the right question to help me access my own inner resources.  She believes in me when I have doubts about my own abilities.

Louise is a great coach whom I would recommend to anyone who wants to be their best.

Louise Barnes-Johnston has coached me on many areas of my life over the past five months. Some of our most important work has been to do with the setting-up of my new office and the efficient and effective running of my business.

When I moved to my new office, I had a huge number of extra things to deal with, as well as my usual workload. Coping with all the small details whilst retaining a view of the bigger picture was made much easier thanks to the coaching I received. I was able to take a step back to identify all the jobs that needed to be done. With Louise's help I could then break each job down into its constituent parts and prioritise them. I could then see clearly each action I needed to take and feel secure in the knowledge that I was doing things in the right order.

At this highly pressurised time I was in danger of becoming stressed by the sheer amount of things I had to get done. The coaching sessions meant that I did not get stressed and was able to stay in control of the situation and get far more done much more easily.

More recently I had a routine compliance visit to prepare for in my business. Again, this meant a great deal of extra work and great attention to detail. I was aware that I had a huge amount of tasks to perform within a set timescale. Louise's coaching sessions again helped me identify what needed to be done, what was urgent and what was important and resulted in a very reassuring list of actions to be taken. I could then be sure that I was using my time to my greatest advantage and that everything would get done in time. In the end, I felt that I had done the impossible by getting all the stuff done and staying in good shape myself.

It has been invaluable to be able to take 'time out' of the usual run of things, to take a step back with the support of a good coach, to pay attention to the detail and yet retain the overview. The regular weekly sessions certainly paid off.

I am sure that I owe my sanity during these times to Louise's coaching skills.

Dear Louise

I wanted to write to tell you how useful I found our Life Coaching sessions recently.

Prior to our sessions, I felt I was getting on with my life projects quite well but I was surprised at how much more effective and pro-active I was after our time together. With your gentle probing, I found myself talking through important issues I hadn't addressed that were in the background of my thinking. Your careful questioning helped me focus on these issues and the action I could take to resolve them. I felt empowered to sort out my feelings and get things straight so I could move on. We defined a clear path forward which made it simple to take the action required because there wasn't anything in the way to stop me.

The other thing I found most helpful was to have you as a sounding board as I talked through my thoughts on the various issues. It felt great to have you 'on my side' and making me take time to champion the results of my actions. You brought a sense of humour and enjoyment to this very powerful process.

I really enjoyed working with you and have been left with a most positive experience of being coached. Thank you.

Louise had her work cut out as my coach because I had made a point in stating when we started working together, that I knew I would never move forward unless my goals came from my heart and I was challenged.

Whenever I started to doubt myself Louise always brought me back to my original goals as my focus and presented me with the choice to change them if my priorities had now changed. They never have but one way in which Louise did this was by using a variety of styles that meant that the process was always fun, exciting and fresh every week when we spoke, this suited me, it also made me want more and more to achieve for myself.

I know I had taken significant steps moving forward when I was able to travel by train, to London, for an evening workshop on my own. This was after three months of coaching but never on this particular subject, this was just part of the knock-on effect of me believing in myself that however difficult, if I really wanted it I could do it.

My attitude changed from negative to positive, my self-image change and also my telephone manner change, and a a colleague said to me I sounded "alive once again" which they hadn't heard for nearly 10 years!

The coaching has not completed itself yet by any means, my first goal was wanting to start up my own business (which I had been trying to do for 7 years unsuccessfully) and has culminated in coaching having a knock-on effect in every area of my life. Having a coach of my own is like having a best friend to share your private feelings, thoughts and dreams but, with none of the emotional baggage involved.
